So for my ninth birthday we had a luau theme, which was super cool, but trying to find the proper accoutrements in mid-September was difficult. Yet my mother managed to track down grass skirts and leis for every guest, (this was pre "type: grass skirt, into amazon and bam, exact item at best price", so it was actually a lot of work for kids' party favors.
