These somehow didn't make it up here until now. Good thing I have this extra day and all.

I don't usually do this sort of thing, but...

Okay, so I'm posting a in-progress comic. Which anyone who knows me in person knows, I will typically snap shut a sketchpad the second I think anyone's looking. But I am breaking the pattern today because a) I keep promising new comics and not giving them b)I really like that this was penciled out while it was happened so there's no time filter (but waaay too much text..zoom in to read) and c)I feel like since all of these comics are a series, I have to package them altogether and at once...so yeah probs another comic book for yalls, except maybe trying to be more selective..like this might not be in it ..which I have odd feelings about because, well, there's that whole "yay it's an actual something" but then there's the whole "getting papers of pretty  to your door costs money bit and I hate making you pay for my comics cause you're my friends". Let me know what you think.

going batty.

So I said there'd be new comics up today... well, I just have far too much to do to get up a nice clean page. and when I say far to much I mean this.

so as you can see: it involves story boards, a baby fruit bat, me listening to She Wants Revenge, and drinking out of a water bottle with a hello kitty t sticker on it (because without the t, i would lose it in the see of britta bottles with hello kitty on them)

texture study/tide over

Alright, so I got a good load of work done on new comics yesterday in a little cafe where either they had a very short playlist on loop or it was a legitimately 30minute long rap song with a very strange dubby breakdown halfway through (yes, I feel the need to destroy all your conceptions of a charmingly quaint classy Florence..furthermore I may have been semi-kicked out for bogarting a corner table for almost two hours while only buying one drink..) Anyway, I ended up drawing far past the time I could go scan something, so ya'll are going to have to wait. In the meantime, enjoy this doodle I did at the same time of different textures/organisms I've been messing around with a bit.
Ciao. Io devo studiare Italiano aora perche non parlo o scivo molto buono  perche non sono brava de ricordo lingua straneri e fa un esame domani. (I think I just said "bye, I have to study Italian now because I don't speak or write very well because I am not clever at remembering foreign languages and I have an exam tomorrow.)

quick thought on Italy

Just drew this out in like literally a minute. picture quality isn't great, but it's a quick gag, so I felt like taking 10 minutes to go somewhere with a scanner who would kind of defeat the purpose of "Oh that'd be fun to do a comic on. But Tori, you have no time, and you are already SO BEHIND on your comics. Okay, just one minute. You get one minute. Go."

obligations

So last year, I did a valentine's day comic, just something I'd hastily doodled out while I was supposed to be writing a research paper. And it became the most viewed comic on this site. In response to the apparently overwhelming need for someone to be vaguely snarky but still kind of sweet, I figured I was forced to, nay, obligated to hastily doodle out something between courses today.
And no readers, this isn't an obligatine. In fact it's one of those I-like-you so much-it-creeps-you-out sort of things.
With that said, share the love (see share buttons at bottom of post)

From The Top-Secret Archives

So here's the next installment in a series I drew but never finished posting. As it's from awhile ago you can obviously get some sense of raw hastiness to spit out a whole idea at once just to have it on paper, I think these were actually meant to be cleaned up a bit and possibley even colored, but I like them in this rustic state, think it works well with the sentimentality of them. Fortunately/unfortunately I feel like as far as comics-work goes this site will be heftily supplemented with work I did in the past, lost, and then found when I was moving out of my old place, as making new comics is taking a lot longer than it normally does. Which I honestly think in retrospect will be for the best, because they are only taking so long because I have the next idea before the first one is finished, and also because I am experimenting with new techniques to create things that look more dynamic and in some cases, more accurate. So there are things coming just delayed. Also, this weekend was supposed to be my big work on comics-palooza and then Friday night my heater and hot water went out and did not get repaired until late Sunday afternoon. So my fingers were too numb from cold to draw anything. But I feel like it's going to make a good story. Which, really, is all I'm after.

alternate take

So here is the same print from Monday (Did you miss it? Well, you wouldn't if you were subscribed! No bother, just click the link to view) except in a different four-color process. Think it really changes it, but can't decide which version I like better... Love it, hate it, want it? (No I'm serious, I don't want all of these and more importantly, I don't want to pay to get them home, so just keep checking back  for me to part with them after critiques or leave a comment and I'll let you know).
